The Continental Cup is almost upon us. Are you expecting different level of competition?
Yeah, I did not played in this competition before, so I'm not really sure what to expect. Definitely expecting some strong teams that we will play against, so… short break after the next game with Zagłębie Sosnowiec and then we will get back to the practice and get ready for the tournament in Italy.
You have Polish roots. Tell us more about it…
Yea, my Dad's side came from Poland. My grandparents lived in Poland. After the Second World War they moved to Canada and raised a family there. I feel very connected to my roots. We’ve always had a family gatherings and sing Polish songs. I’ve tried it, but I'm still learning Polish language. We’ve also eat Polish food. I still have a family in Poland and we visited them four years ago. Poland holds a special place in my heart.
How it's been in Poland for you so far? What can you say about the country?
It’s awesome! I’ve loved it so far. The city is great, there is a lot of things to do. Like I said, it's definitely special that I can play in Poland, because my family has roots here. This is very nice country, the people are great, very attentive and I already feel like this is my second home. Can’t wait to discover even more!
What did you expect from Katowice and how are those expectation corresponds to reality?
Yeah, I was expecting that it would be really big city, one of the biggest in Poland. You don’t really know what to expect, but you have an idea, and I am pleasantly surprised with the amount of things to do. I love the food here. Always trying new things and I really enjoyed that. And also the sports fan base is very strong here and we can see it all over the city.

Jesteśmy coraz bliżej Pucharu Kontynentalnego. Oczekujesz innego poziomu rywalizacji?
Nie grałem w tych rozgrywkach wcześniej i nie jestem do końca pewny, czego powinienem oczekiwać. Na pewno czeka nas rywalizacja z mocnymi zespołami, więc przed nami mecz z Zagłębiem Sosnowiec, następnie przerwa i rozpoczniemy przygotowania przed turniejem we Włoszech.
Masz polskie korzenie, opowiedz o tym więcej…
Tak, rodzina ze strony mojego ojca pochodzi z Polski. Moi dziadkowie żyli w Polsce. Zaraz po drugiej wojnie przenieśli się do Kanady i założyli tam rodzinę. Czuję się mocno przywiązany do moich korzeni. Podczas rodzinnych spotkań często śpiewamy polskie piosenki. Próbowałem razem z nimi, ale nadal uczę się języka polskiego. Jemy także polskie jedzenie. Nadal mam rodzinę w Polsce i odwiedziłem ją cztery lata temu. Polska ma specjalne miejsce w moim sercu.
Jak mija Ci czas w Polsce? Co możesz powiedzieć o naszym kraju?
Jest świetnie, bardzo mi się podoba. Miasto jest fantastyczne, bo można robić wiele różnych rzeczy. To dla mnie wyjątkowe, że mogę grać w kraju, z którego pochodzi moja rodzina. To bardzo ładny kraj. Spotkałem świetnych i bardzo życzliwych ludzi i już czuję, że to mój drugi dom. Nie mogę się doczekać, by odkryć więcej!
Czego po Katowicach oczekiwałeś?
Oczekiwałem, że to będzie duże miasto, jedno z największych w Polsce. Nigdy nie wiesz, jak to do końca będzie, ale masz pewne wyobrażenie. Jestem miło zaskoczony tym, jak wiele się tutaj dzieje. Uwielbiam jedzenie, zawsze próbuję nowych rzeczy i bardzo mi się to podoba. Poza tym jest tutaj bardzo silna społeczność sportowa, co widać na każdym kroku.
